Project Overview

The project, financed with the support of EEA Grants 2014 - 2021 within the RO-CULTURE Programme, proposes innovative methods of exhibiting cultural heritage, combining the use of latest multimedia technologies with new activities that involve museum specialists, craftspeople and local producers. A modern exhibition will be organized, meeting the expectations of the target audience – young people aged between 15 and 30, which will be centered on 13 ethnographic objects that have been selected to be restored, exhibited and interpreted.

The display will be innovative, using modern exhibiting technics and a VR system (virtual reality), a premiere for open air ethnographic collections. The exhibition will be capitalized by a cultural program consisting of crafts and gastronomic workshops supported by local producers as well as re-enactments and fairs.

The project will be carried out in partnership with Museums of South Trøndelag, Norway, an entity with extensive experience in developing heritage management programs.

ABOUT THE FINANCING ENTITIES

The EEA Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. There are two overall objectives: reduction of economic and social disparities in Europe, and to strengthen bilateral relations between the donor countries and 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics. The three donor countries cooperate closely with the EU through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The donors have provided €3.3 billion through consecutive grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. For the period 2014-2021, the EEA Grants amount to €1.55 billion.
